Central Bank of Malta informiert:
On 30 November 2018, the Central Bank of Malta in collaboration with Lombard Bank plc, will be issuing three gold bullion coins, to be named Melita, after Malta’s ancient name. These legal tender coins which are classed as investment gold, will be issued in 3 different weights and denominations.
The bullion coins feature the figure of Melita on the obverse and the emblem of Malta on the reverse. Each coin is certified and housed individually in a sealed card. Each coin bears a unique profile that may be verified using PAMP's VERISCAN bullion security system.
The 1 troy ounce coin has a face value of €100 and sells for €1195
The 1/2 troy ounce coin has a face value of €50 and sells for €630
The 1/4 troy ounce coin has a face value of €25 and sells for €325
